Let me see if my fingers can thaw out as I type. My typing isn't very good anyway, but having numb fingers is surely going to over work the spell checker.
This morning was church as usual. And a great sermon by Daddy, as usual.
Then is was home for a rushed lunch because I had to be over at one of the jet hangers at 1250 to do family pictures in the jet. As you can see in the picture, I get to climb the first lift so I am eye level to the cockpit. The families get into the jet from the other lift. The pictures looked good with the view of the American flag behind them. We had a good 30 minutes when nobody was there to get their pictures done, so I went up and climbed in the cockpit. It may sound silly, but there really is this feeling of awe sitting there, looking behind you, seeing the engines and the missile carriers, realizing how much power this machine really has. Realizing how much power they give our country.
While I was there, Sam got all 4 kids to play practice at 3:00 and went to the BX to get a hostess gift for the 4:00 AMXS party we needed to go to. The kids left play practice at 5:00 and went to AWANA until 7:00. Then it was a rush job to run home to join the chapel Christmas caroling evening that I hadn't planned on doing because it is dark and cold and I have a bad cold. It is 22 degrees out right now. Supposed to be a low of 14 tonight. But we went, it was FUN! And I wish I could have read Kaebrie's mind, she was looking at us doing this with amazement. It is now 8:12 and KB is finishing her bedtime snack. Sam took the big 3 over to the chapel for hot chocolate and cookies. The ground is still covered in inches of snow, and watching all the kids together and hearing all the crunching of the snow and ice and the laughing and the singing really was special. Why does it feel more like Christmas when there is snow?
I don't care if tomorrow is Monday, I hope they all sleep in until 9:00! Now, where did I put that NYQUIL!?!?!?!?
