Christopher's Soccer Team!

I put these on the computer last week, but realized yesterday that I never published them! Shame on Mommy!!!!
This is Christopher's first time to play soccer and he really likes it. He is the youngest on the team, just squeaking by 3 days after the age cutoff, but just about the biggest one. Because of his size, he was a natural to pick for goalie.
He was not as aggressive at first, he kept looking to me and the coaches to make sure he was doing the right thing. But after half time he really got into it and his efforts paid off! He was good!
Here he is below going after that ball!
Blocked it!
Kicking it back in....
I really am not sure about this one. My funny sister had some creative comments to go along with it though!

Fighting for that ball.......
Tongue out, shoe untied....this is our typical Christopher that we love so much!
Way to go Little Buddy!

The 10 and 11 Year Old Girls Soccer Team

Neither Kaitlynn nor Sam were thrilled with the team color, though Kaebrie LOVED it!
There are only 2 teams of this age groups of girls, so they will play each other for every game! :)
Kaitlynn guarded the goalie for the first half of the game. She did good! They only scored once.
Below is her friend Livie from church.
Fighting the purple team for the ball!

Here is John Murray, another friend and another coach. Sam thought they both looked great in their team colors!
They ended up winning 5 - 1 so they were pretty happy. But that other team has some incredible athletes and all these games will be a fight to win!

First Day Of Ballet

Here is little Miss Priss, dressed and ready to go two hours BEFORE her first class!
Classes are offered downtown in the Triangle building.
In she goes.....
Her teacher, Ms. Krista, helps her tie her new shoes.
All excited and ready to dance!!!
This brought back so many memories of when Kaitlynn was this age and started her dance classes.
Fun and special times!

Sweet Baby Harris

Baptism are such a special part of life in our church. Sam loves doing them and the congregation loves watching them.
This morning was extra special! Harris received the covenant of baptism.
Harris's daddy, Elliott, is our "youth guy." Truthfully, he is much more than that, but that is what Sam jokingly calls him. He and his sweet wife, Carrie, and their other son, Thomas, are becoming good friends as well.

We are thankful for the Everitts and look forward to many more years in working at the church together.

Christopher is SEVEN !!!!!

I can't think of a better reason to have a 500th post then to wish our Tiff a happy 7th birthday!
(Sam started this blog on his way to Idaho back in July of 2005, and eventually I stole it and made it my own).
But wait, wasn't the earlier post a birthday post too?
Yep! He and Kaebrie were born 2 days short of 2 years apart. They BOTH weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces and there was only a 10 minute time difference. They were BOTH due September 16th as well. (To make the story more bizarre both Collin and Kaitlynn were due February 22nd). :)

This little guy is something else! He has the BEST laugh, ever. It is the most genuine, contagious laugh we have ever heard. It has been that way since he was a baby and we LOVE it! He likes to be busy and if he can be busy outside, that is where he wants to be; climbing, digging, riding, and building forts. His nails are ALWAYS dirty, no matter how often his hands are washed. He likes to play tricks on his siblings, LOVES to eat and we have a hard time filling him up. He is excessively tall for his age and is adorable with so many front teeth missing.

We love you Christopher Dean Smith!!!!!

This morning after breakfast, we walked down the driveway again to take your birthday pictures. You knew right where to go because we were there just two days ago!

No school on your birthday is the rule in the Smith house, though I don't think any child has ever enjoyed that rule more than you did today!

We did presents this morning too!

You got soccer socks, shin guards....

.... and a new soccer ball!!!!
Also a bionacle that Collin helped you put together. Also, a one month membership to Club Penguin!! (Please don't ask me to explain what that is).
You were one very happy, very busy boy today!
You also got to pick your special meal, and it was the Mexican Restaurant for dinner! You ordered hot wings for the first time and drank about 3 glasses of Sprite along with them. :)
You bring special things into this family Christopher. You make Mommy have to try things harder some times, you make us not take things for granted, you make us laugh and we are so thankful that all those years ago, when the doctor held you up, she said,
"IT'S a BOY!!!!!"

Sweet Kaebrie is FIVE!!!!

5 years old.
It seems impossible for that much time to have passed. We talked long and hard about having this fourth baby, and now we can't imagine life without her. She brings such joy, such smiles and such laughter to everyone who knows her. She came into this world blessed with an extra large imagination and personality.

She requested pancakes for her birthday breakfast, and cinnamon pancakes she got!
After breakfast we walked down the driveway while it was still cool"er" and did her birthday pictures. We were done in about 5 minutes. The mosquitoes were trying to eat us alive!
Blonde hair, blue eyes, dimples, and left handed. No wonder we call her our recessive gene child!
Below is her, "I am up to something" look!
She wanted one with Yazzi, but the pup would NOT cooperate. She just wanted to play.

That afternoon it was time to open presents! Her pink shirt she had on earlier was in the wash because she got red Popsicle juice all over it.
Without telling us, Kaitlynn took her own money with her to her knitting class and bought Kaebrie a very special necklace at the gift shop.
Daddy walked in with her pink and purple gift bag and her eyes got wide!!!
What was inside? ALL her ballet stuff! Slippers, tights, leotards.....
And her own personalized dance bag!
Last was a pair of new boots. This girl loves shoes more than any child I have ever seen!
When we got to church for our Wednesday Night Supper, I took this one outside. I like it!
And we surprised them both with a great big cake for the whole church! It was YUMMY!

She started to get up and do something, then she sat back down. I asked her what she was doing. She said, "Mommy, I am five now. I can't be as silly as I was when I was four." :)

We have also told her that 5 year olds don't suck their fingers. So we reminded her last night that she can't do that anymore. Daddy has been teasing her telling her that if she sucks them after she turns 5, she will turn back to age 4 again.
This morning, she comes down and looks at me all sad. She asked, "Mommy, do I have to give back my presents? I sucked my fingers last night so I am not five anymore."

What fun she is!!
I love you sweet girl!!
