The Chapel was hosting a Fall Festival, and one of the fun things to do was enter a pumpkin in the carving contest! So, we bought this BIG pumpkin weeks ago at a Farmers Market and the kids have been waiting to cut it! Here we are ready to start!
Took Mommy awhile to carve out the top, I didn't realize that the skin would be SO THICK!
Kaitlynn pulls the top off!!!!
I don't think either of them realized how slimy and goopy it would be inside!
They weren't thrilled with the thought of reaching in and scraping all the seeds out with their hands, but once I gave them spoons they liked it MUCH better!
Even Kaebrie helps!
After all the seeds were removed and washed, Kaitlynn mixes them with olive oil and seasoning.
Then she spreads them on the pan to bake! YUM!!!!!
That night, Daddy helps them carve out a cross.
Kaitlynn had the most fun of any of them on this project!
Though Daddy is the only one who ended up liking the seeds! :-)
