THANK YOU JuJu!!!

Dear JuJu, Thank you so much for my birthday present. After scrubbing me clean tonight, Mommy cut off the tags and put it on me. It is so soft! And the PERFECT fit. Maybe I will quit growing and can wear it all winter! How do you like the new hair cut? It looks so much fuller when it it wet! Thank you again!
Love, Kaebrie

How is this for the perfect model-baby picture?!?!?!

Haircuts!

Today was a first, haircuts for EVERYONE!!!!! Took Ms. Jessica 45 minutes to make her way through the Smith kids!
Here is Kaitlynn's new cut! Lost about 5 inches, got some tapering and some layering!

Here is Christopher, who always laughs HYSTERICALLY when she uses the clippers. Oh well, I know I would rather have him laughing then screaming! Collin took this picture!
Then, at 25 1/2 months old, it was FINALLY time for Kaebrie's first haircut. She did so well! I asked Jessica what she thought, and in HER words, she said usually , in little girls with "mullets", she just evens it up a bit into a bob so it can all kind of grow out together. So that is what she did!
Kaebrie is just watching! And Collin and Kaitlynn are fascinated as well!
Kaebrie brushed her babies hair while Ms. Jessica did the cutting.

All done!!!! IT does change her looks a bit, but all that scraggly new born hair is gone, but don't worry, we saved it for the scrapbook OF COURSE!!!! :-)

The Firehouse!!!!!

Today was yet another fun field trip!!!!!!!! There are now 7 families with 22 children that home school on our block. IT IS SO GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't feel so alone in it anymore, there is ALWAYS someone available to play, there is always help available, there is sharing info and supplies going on, and there are field trips to go on together. This trip was put together last night and some of the homeschool families were available this morning to go to the Base Firehouse, this being Fire Safety Week!
Here is the group with Sparky the FireDog in front of one of the trucks.
Christopher and Sparky!
Collin and James sitting in the new fire truck. It is an experimental model that the base is using for a year.
The kids LOVED the spray. They asked to get wet, but that was NUTS! It was 41 degrees out!!!!

They showed us how the firemen has LESS then 60 seconds to get all their gear on and get out the door. We timed them, and they did it!

This is an interesting house design. They gave us a FULL tour. We saw the huge kitchen, the sleeping quarters, the gym, the TV room, the game room, the 911 emergency call room, and the BIG room where all 10 firetrucks are held. They do 24 hours on, then 24 hours off.
The double sided fiehouse had 5 trucks facing both directions. Facing front were trucks ready to leave to be anywhere on base. Trucks facing the other direction were for the flightline and the jets. If a landing gear fails, or a bomb didn't deploy during a practice flight in the desert, or a fire, the runway firetrucks are ready, and they are HUGE!!!!!! Since there are not fire hydrants on the runway, they have to be able to carry more water then the usual truck. We were there for about an hour and learned a LOT!

How about those apples? :-)

It was off to Emmett, Idaho ( about an hour and a half away) to the Candy Apple Orchard for a day of apple picking, picnic'ing, and fun!
We invited our homeschool group from town and our homeschool friends on base, and ended up with 16 adults and 44 children!!!!!
Here is the first photo of the day of the Smith 4!

Then the race was on! Here is Tiff grabbing what he can reach and RUNNING to put them in the barrel!
I have just discovered that if you click on these 3 pictures that are cut in half, you will be able to see the entire picture.Collin liked using the "apple picker" so he could get the really big ones that were up to far to reach!
THOSE EYES!!! Where those incredible blue-rimmed eyes came from?? We all know that the FIRST bite of an apple is always the best part. Well, I think little Miss Kaebrie enjoyed about 25 GREAT apples!
( I can't figure out why the bottom half of 3 pictures didn't load!!)
I caught KitKat taking a break in the shade under an apple tree sampling her harvest!

I think this was apple #17. I told the owner they should have weighed her when she arrived and then again when she left! :-)
Not really wanting to stop and pose for a group picture, but they did ok.
Though they would MUCH rather eat all the apples!
Kaebrie wanted that apple SO BAD!!!!!!! She stretched and reached and jumped, but it stayed just millimeters out of her reach.

Here are the biggest ones Collin found. They were so big he was able to enter them into the orchard sponsored contest of the BIGGEST APPLE OF THE SEASON! His largest one weighed in at exactly 1 pound 1 ounce. If he wins, he gets a free bushel next season!
Christopher the apple boy!
YUM!!!! I lost count on how many he ate!!!!

Our favorite babysitter, Amberlee, was also on the trip. Here she is with Tiff on her shoulders so he can get some big apples up high!
(This is another picture that wouldn't load. ugh! It is SO cute ! I will keep working and see if I can't get it fixed soon).
Kaebrie........ just looking out over the orchard.
The four with Amberlee!
34 of the homeschool group kids! I think a few families left early.

It was a nice, beautiful , relaxing day. We have bagged up tons of apples and passed them out to all the neighbors. Altogether, the Smith kids picked 60 pounds of apples and there is NO TELLING how many they pounds they ate!!!!!!! :-)
