No training wheels for Tiffer!!!!

Though he has only been 4 years old for about 3 weeks, he was SO ready to have those training wheels removed! Mommy wasn't ready because HE HAS ONLY BEEN FOUR FOR THREE WEEKS!! :-) The other kids were 5 and 6 years old before their training wheels came off! But we were on a family walk and he was riding in front of us and we noticed that the training wheels weren't even touching the ground. SO we walked back home, Sam removed them, and IMMEDIATLEY off Tiff went! No seat holding, no running with him, he just took off on his own!

NOT A PROBLEM!!!!! Way to go Christopher!!!!

ROLLER BLADE HOCKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Instead of playing soccer this season, Collin opted to try Roller Blade Hockey! This is a group of 9 - 13 year olds ( all boys and one girl) and right now they are just learning the rules and techniques. They are padded from head to toe and they are LOVING it!
A lot of the Airmen like to play and they have said they will play them in a few "games" at the end of the season. I am doing their team pictures on Tuesday so I will post one of those next week. So Poppa and JuJu didn't get to see a game, but they did get to see him practice!

Boise

Thursday was their last full day here in Idaho. We left home around 9:30 and drove to Boise for the day. First on the agenda was the famous Rose Garden; the second largest in the NorthWest! It really was beautiful and it smelled so good!

Then it was on to the zoo for lunch ( Thursdays are half-price admission days and dollar hot dog days) and to walk around and see the animals.
Here is Collin practicing for some real animal wrestling when he gets older!
Kaitlynn and Christopher had to try as well!

Here are the Auburn Boys!!!! Counting the hours until the game comes on tonight!
Fall is here! The leaves are getting so pretty!
Then is was on to the Boise Train Tour. As you can see we rode the TOOTIN TATER! It lasted an hour, took us all over the city and we learned a lot of interesting facts! It was really good!

This crooked picture of our capitol was taken on a moving train! :-)
They had to get in some wrestling time! Here is Poppa and Collin going at it, then Tiffer and Kit Kat joined in! Poppa won!

The day wasn't over! We had to get ready for Collin's roller hockey game at 5:30, then a cook-out for the Auburn game! WAR EAGLE!

Silver City

This was the day to really go exploring, and rock hunting! A long trip through the mountains in the Land Rover to an old ghost town called Silver City was the plan! I stayed home with the little 2, and 6 hours later the rock hunting group arrived home with some incredible rocks! Kaitlynn called them gems because they were so shiny and pretty.

Here is Sam and his Mom with Collin and Kaitlynn looking down into the mountains.

Here they are sitting in an old decaying wagon-type-thing of some sort.
Here is Poppa and JuJu in front of the old church.
Here they are digging! Look closely and see Sam in the upper part of the picture.
This is looking back down on the curvy road they drove. Good thing Kay had her dramamine! :-)
They all had a great time and said the long drive was worth it. My kitchen was FULL of rocks being soaked and washed off! Kay's luggage going home is sure going to be heavier then when she arrived with all those pretty "gems" inside!

Soccer Time!

Wednesday night was Kaitlynn's first soccer game of the season. It ended in a tie game of 2 - 2. Which was a good thing, because KK and Anna Brooke are on one team together, and their best friends were on the other team, so ALL the girls were happy! :-)

Here is the happy soccer player with Poppa and JuJu.

Here she is in the middle of the game. See that look of total concentration! There is Chaplain Steve and McKenna in the background!
Here is Maddie, OBVIOUSLY fouling against one of her best friends! NO HANDS MADDIE!!!!!!!
:-) ( sorry Tabitha, couldn't resist).
The Smith clan watching the game and enjoying the sunshine.
Kaebrie and her new buddy!
After the game we all came home, cooked a big breakfast dinner, played a round of "PIGS" and then it was off to bed!

Odds and Ends (Day3)

Here are some odds and ends of the last 3 days. Today was spent mostly relaxing, with a tour of the base, reading, going to the park, games, and watching Kaebrie dance. She LOVES an audience. Right now Poppa and JuJu have them at Burger King. Hope things are going well!!!!
Here is block stacking...........

Finger painting.............
Reading..................
Flipping.......................
And playing at the park. The weather was GORGEOUS!

Fearless little Kaebrie likes to find the highest point on which to climb then proceed to swing and make everyone catch their breath. Little daredevil!

Bruneau Canyon and Dunes (DAY TWO) !!

Today was another busy, but great day. We went to church this morning where Sam preached one of his best sermons EVER! :-) THen after a big lunch and a small nap ( for a few ) off we went to Bruneau. It is about 30+ miles, but to get to the canyon it is an extra 18 miles, the last 10 of which are a BUMPY awful gravel road. My minivan was complaining!!! But it was worth it. The canyon was spectacular!!!!!!!! It is even deeper then the Grand Canyon! Incredible! These pictures just don't do it justice.
Here is one of the 4 kids next to the fence over looking the canyon.
Here is a peek at part of the canyon.
Tiffer ducked at the last second and disappeared from the picture.
I love this one of Kaitlynn. THe background almost looks fake.

Then is was on to the dunes, where we had a picnic supper before the climbing began!

Up they went! Even Kaebrie, who REFUSED help, (Little Miss Independent).

They ALL made it to the very top!!!!!!!!

I think Christopher fell asleep before his head hit the pillow!
They have all sacked out for the night!
Idaho sure is a beautiful place!
