wow
So hard to believe we are getting that far into the future, but it does explain a lot of things. Like why my oldest child will be ELEVEN this year ( and my sweet husband whom I married when he was a mere 24 will be FORTY this year). And why my 20th high school reunion will be this summer. Explains the laugh lines and grey hairs I see appearing. Explains the technology that I am getting farther and farther behind in understanding, and why my kids know all about it! Explains the deeper appreciation I have for family and friends. How every year there are more and more things and people to be thankful for.
It doesn't explain how it got here so fast. How time just seems to be flying at warp speed and each year seems faster then the one before.
I pray you all have a joyous and sincere 2008. That relationships will be built and mended, that memories will be created and that priorities will be focused.
May our God bless you with love and peace and a deeper relationship with Him.

We had a fun New Years Day today. A good friend of Sam's invited our family to his house in Boise for lunch, along with the Chainey family. Sam graduated with Brad Chainey in 2002 from RTS in Jackson, Mississippi, so we have known him and his wife, Erin, for many years. They left Mississippi right after graduation and he came to Boise to be a pastor of a PCA church here. The ONLY PCA church here. They have 5 children now of similar ages to ours and it was a fun afternoon of visiting, catching up, eating and sledding. There is a small hill behind their house that was perfect for it! The Swaby's have 2 teenage sons, but they didn't seem at all overwhelmed with 9 kids age ten and under in their home. And their boys were wonderful with all the little ones! They took them all sledding so the adults could sit and visit.
Below are two videos of Kaebrie sledding.
We are talking about going to Bogus Basin on Monday the 7th. Not to ski, but to do the tubing hill we keep hearing so much about. They actually pull you back up the hill so it is way more fun them having to trek back up a hill under your own power.
That is the day all the rest of the kids go back to school, so it should be pretty empty for us.
You KNOW there will be pictures! :)
Then it was a late afternoon of football for the Smith boys and now it is time to throw them all in the bed.
A great day to start a new year!
