This weekend was a marriage seminar hosted by Liberty Chapel. Back in April, Sam submitted a proposal for a $7,000 grant and it was approved! But goodness, what a hassle it was to spend that money because it came with about 12,874 rules!
Anyway, he was able to fly in Guy and Denise Richardson from Jackson, Mississippi to be the guest speakers. Guy is now the President of Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson where Sam graduated from, and he was also the pastor that Sam interned under in the Presbyterian Church in Edwards, MS where we lived our last year of school.
They are both phenomenal speakers and had great and encouraging and challenging things to say.
Friday night we all drove down to Carmella Vineyards about 45 minutes south and were treated to a great dinner and session 1. It was while we were gone that Collin broke his finger. With 45 kids left behind at the chapel with 11 childcare providers, thankfully that was the only incident all weekend.
Saturday morning, all the kids were dropped off at the chapel again, and we had 2 sessions and brunch at the club.
Then the kids were dropped off again (not ours, we got a sitter) at 4pm and off 35 couples went to Horseshoe Bend, Idaho! We were in our van with 2 couples, 27 couples were on the bus, and the remaining 5 couples took their new limo. They are all pilots with the 389th, the TIGERS, and the squadron just purchased a limo and all these pilots and wives enjoyed rubbing that in!
We boarded the Thunder Mountain Express for a two and a half hour dinner train ride.
It is a really old, yet restored train that travels kind of slowly along the Payette river up through the mountains. So pretty!
Here we are BEFORE the ride, still a bit warm and not yet windblown! :-)
Here we are with Guy and Denise.
Before dinner in the dining car.
The food!
This was the outdoor car behind our private dining car. Sam issued a "mandatory cuddle time" after dinner was over. :-)
And what a good idea!
This is our Wing Chaplain, Vic Toney and his sweet wife, Pam. We love them!
A shot before the sun set to much and you couldn't see the front of the train.
It was a wonderful weekend.

It was a wonderful weekend. We met a LOT of new couples and all the comments were very positive.
I wish we could do this once a month!

Correction: It is the 389th FS Thunderbolts that took their silly limo to the train ride. The 391st FS Bold Tigers have a way cooler tiger-striped squadron car.
I STAND CORRECTED! Goodness, I didn't realize my mistake would be such a "HOT" one! :-)
Why didn't ya'll drive your cool car though?!?! :-)
