Well, you haven't been to Idaho until you have been to the Sawtooth Mountains. Collin and I, along with 2 single airmen, took a trip to the Sawtooths just above Sun Valley last weekend. We hiked a popular trail called the Petit-Toxaway loop which is 18 miles long. The highlight was the crossing of Snowyside Pass which sits at 9,500 feet and is a 1,000 foot verticle climb in only a mile and half. We took 3 days to make our trip and Collin carried his own pack for the entire trip save about 50 feet! The Sawtooths aren't the tallest peaks...around 11,000 - 12,000 feet, but they are some of the most spectacular that I have seen. God was good and we certainly enjoyed his creation!
We got to do some fishing..........
We got to do some fishing..........
This was the campsite on our first night. GORGEOUS!!!!!!
Taking a MUCH needed break.
In front of one of the MANY lakes!
Waterfalls where EVERYWHERE!
One of my alltime FAVORITE pictures. The twin lakes are down below, the mountains...WOW!
Joe and Justin (who you might recognize from earlier FCA outings) joined us for this AWESOME 3 day adventure.
I was SO PROUD of Collin. 18 miles carrying all your stuff is a LOT for a 9 year old, but he was AMAZING!
We are learning to love the outdoors as we experience all these new things Idaho has to offer. It has brought us closer as a family and we are SO thankful to be here!
